What is a fanlisting?

As stated by TheFanlistings.org, a fanlisting is simply an online list of fans of a subject, such as a TV show, actor, or musician, that is created by an individual and open for fans from around the world to join. In this case, our subject is Libba Bray, and all her fans are encouraged to join!

Who is Libba Bray?

Libba Bray is the author of the New York Times best-seller A Great and Terrible Beauty and Rebel Angels. She was born in Alabama, but lived in Texas until she was 26 years old, at which point she moved to New York City, where she now lives with her family. She loves to take Lucille (her laptop) to coffeeshops so she can write, but she admits she prefers writing things out long-hand (with an actual pen and paper-- imagine that!) and then transferring her thoughts onto Lucille. She loves reading, writing, music, the word "redemption", and I imagine a whole bunch of other likable things, although she claims she hates doughnuts (which is supposed to be a likable food, isn't it?), so what would I know?

What are her books about?

Ever feel you were born in the wrong time? Ever feel completely misplaced in your society, and completely unique in your way of seeing things? So does sixteen-year-old Gemma Doyle. Although when she sees things, she sees in her mind, by way of visions, which have an unsettling habit of coming true.

After her mother is murdered in India, Gemma is sent to the Spence Academy for girls in London. There, she makes "friends" with the most influential bunch of girls at the school, discovers that her mother was a targeted member of a group called the Order, and also finds she's been followed by Kartik, a mysterious young man, all the way from India.

However, Kartik seems to know more than he lets on. He warns Gemma to block the visions that keep clouding her mind, but going only on her own judgement, she does not heed Kartik's warnings, and ends up in a supernatural world-- one in which she can see her mother! How can visions leading into such a world be bad?

But Gemma, and her friends Ann, Felicity, and Pippa, find out the hard way that just like in the real world, the magical realm they visit is also stained with that which is good, and that which is evil, all of which is A Great and Terrible Beauty.

In Bray's Rebel Angels, the adventure continues. The majority of this sequel takes place during the girls' Christmas break, which they spend together, for the most part. Gemma also winds up being courted by the ever-charming Simon Middleton, but Kartik is back, too! Both as an annoyance... and a possible love interest? Whatever the case may be, Gemma is confused by both boys. Who isn't confused by boys?

Despite the cheery Christmas holidays, the realms are beginning to decay as the magic, now freely flowing all through the realms, finds its way into the hands of evil. Gemma must quickly bind the magic and defeat Circe, her greatest foe in (and out of) the realms.

But the adventure doesn't end there, for Libba Bray is currently working on the third (and final) installment of her book series. The third installment (which she says is just now taking shape, though is still called "book #3") will take care of the possible budding romance between Gemma and Kartik (man, frisk her already!!), and will most likely answer most unanswered questions. Nothing more is really known, since Bray, herself, has admitted to writing without a plan, letting the story take her where it will.
